How I Increased Views of Climate Tech YouTube Channel by 400+%

Leaders on a Mission isn’t just a podcast, it’s a platform for visionary thinking. Hosted by Simon, CEO of CS Partners, the show spotlights innovative minds in Climate Tech. I turned this valuable podcast into a discoverable brand on YouTube.

Background Info

Client name: CS Partners: Leaders on a Mission

Client description: “Hosted by Simon Leich, this podcast has a clear mission: to spotlight the innovators and dreamers who are re-imagining this world and making a real change.”

Client industry: Climate Tech

Project dates: April - September 2024

The Challenge

Simon had already built an impressive interview lineup and a strong foundation, but he needed help turning his channel into a polished, discoverable brand with the reach it deserved. That’s where I came in.

Simon is a busy founder with a clear mission, but limited time to execute a full marketing strategy.

He was already uploading full episodes to YouTube and occasionally promoting them on LinkedIn. But without a consistent brand identity, optimised content, or a focused promotional approach, the podcast wasn’t reaching its full potential.

My goal was to help Simon:

  • Refine the Leaders on a Mission brand

  • Increase podcast visibility on YouTube

  • Drive targeted traffic from LinkedIn

  • Grow an audience of climate-conscious listeners

My tech stack: The software I used in this project.

My Approach

I built on the foundation that Simon had built with his podcast and YouTube channel and added layers of strategy, consistency, YouTube optimisation and creativity that made the podcast brand discoverable, polished, and impactful.

  • Brand strategy: I developed a clear tone of voice and visual identity for the podcast across platforms.

This included introducing branded thumbnails to make episodes stand out in YouTube search results and refining the messaging across titles, descriptions, and social posts to better speak to Climate Tech leaders and professionals.

  • YouTube optimisation: I implemented YouTube SEO best practices through keyword and competitor research to create strategic titles and descriptions.

I also launched a YouTube Shorts strategy where I collaborated with a freelance video editor to repurpose long-form content into punchy, engaging short clips.

  • LinkedIn marketing: I helped Simon promote the episodes on LinkedIn with snappy, strategic copy designed to spark engagement and position Simon as a thought leader.

I developed a content calendar to ensure consistent posting and alignment with podcast releases.

  • There is now a stronger brand consistency across all touchpoints, reinforcing the podcast’s credibility and professionalism.
